When adjusting the tension, ensure that the door is in the closed position. It's important to note that you cannot make the hinges self-opening by adjusting the tension to be negative. Always rotate the tension adjustment rod or hex wrench to the left, regardless of whether it's a right-hand or left-hand door application.
